Private Swimming Lessons

Knowing how important it is for your child to learn how to swim, you may decide to let him do so during the school break. However, while deciding over the matter may be easy, it is determining the method that may prove to be more difficult. You would have to choose whether your child should get a private swimming lesson or he should just join a swimming class. Actually, there are pros and cons of both methods. For private swimming lessons, your child can have full attention from the instructor and can learn better if they are easily distracted in a swimming class by their peers.

A Private Swimming Lesson

In a private swimming lesson, your child may have a trainer or instructor all for himself.  There would be no other trainee or student involved but him alone. Apparently, this would be easy for the trainer since he would have to deal with only one student. However, since there is no one else to be taught, your child may also learn fast. Classes will also catered according to the timetabe and progression of your child. This makes it more customized and in a way, the privacy of your child is being assured if they are uncomfortable around the other students.

What to take note during lessons

Before embarking on a private swimming lesson for your child, it is good to check if the swimming instructor is certified to teach swimming and also if he or she has the necessary safety knowledge. Always make sure that the instructor is well verse in the various aspects so that you can be assure of your child’s safety in the pool. Another thing to take note is the lesson outlines or curriculum for your child. It is good that the lesson are catered accordingly however, parents are the ones who understand their child’s needs and skill in swimming thus, parents should let the instructors know where their children are at before letting the instructor take over.
